Screen classification
The raw materials for the production of screens in China mainly include mulberry silk, nylon wire, metal wire, etc., and the large categories of screens that can be produced are silk screens, synthetic fiber screens, and metal meshes.
1 silk screen
Silk screen is a screen produced by animal fiber mulberry silk as raw material, and there are CB and CQ categories.
C - stands for mulberry silk.
B - stands for semi-skein tissue or plain weave tissue.
Q - stands for full skein tissue.
Therefore, we use CB to represent the screen of semi-skein or plain tissue produced with mulberry silk as raw material, and CQ to represent the screen of full skein structure produced from mulberry silk.
2 synthetic fiber screens
Synthetic fiber screen is a screen produced by synthetic fiber as raw material, mainly nylon (nylon) screen and polyester screen. It is represented by JF, JP and DF and DP respectively.
J – stands for nylon (nylon).
D - stands for polyester.
F - Represents Fangping Organization.
P - stands for plain weave tissue.
Therefore, JF stands for square tissue screen produced with nylon (nylon) filament. JP stands for plain tissue screen produced from nylon (nylon) filament. DF indicates a square flat tissue screen produced with polyester yarn. DP indicates plain tissue screen produced from polyester yarn.
These screens are produced on shuttle looms. Now the screen production unit is produced by a shuttle loom, and its product quality is better than that of the shuttle loom. To show the difference, JFP, DFP... The P indicates that the product is produced on a shuttle loom.
3 metal screens
Metal screen is a screen produced after drawing with ferrous metal or non-ferrous metal, there are stainless steel mesh, brass mesh, phosphor copper mesh.
2 Selection of screens
What size of screen is selected depends on:
1. The type of ink or printing paste used in printing.
2. The fineness of the printed pattern and the number of color sets.
3. What is the material and performance of the backing cloth used for printing.
The main parameters for selecting a screen are as follows:
1. Number of mesh meshes
There are two calculation methods:
Metric method: that is, the number of roots of the longitude (latitude) line in the length of one centimeter (cm). Such as JF42, refers to the nylon square flat tissue one centimeter 42 mesh screen.
Imperial method: that is, within the length of one inch, the number of warp (weft) lines, such as nylon 120 mesh, refers to 120 warp (weft) lines within one inch.
2. Wire diameter
The diameter of the raw material monofilament used to weave the screen, expressed in micrometers (μm).
3. Mesh size
That is, the size of the opening, which represents the relationship between the number of warp or weft threads per centimeter and the thickness of each filament, is the gap between two filaments, expressed in microns.
4. Opening
That is, the opening area, which refers to the ratio of the area of one centimeter of mesh to one centimeter of area, usually expressed in "%", which represents the proportion of screen ink or slurry passing through the screen, such as JF42 opening rate is 25%. Indicates that 75% of the ink or paste remains on the mesh during the printing process, and only 25% of the ink or paste passes through.
5. Screen thickness
Like the opening rate, the thickness of the screen directly affects the amount of ink or slurry precipitated on the substrate, and the thickness of the screen is related to the thickness of the raw material wire warp of the screen, generally about 90%~95% of the warp wire warp and weft wire warp.
6. Ink permeability
That is, the capacity of the ink or slurry of all mesh holes in a square meter area, which is related to the wire warp and mesh number used to weave the screen, expressed as "cm3/m2".
Now the widely used screen in China is nylon (nylon) and polyester monofilament screen, other such as (mulberry) silk screen, single multifilament synthetic fiber screen, etc. are less used, so only the selection of nylon and polyester monofilament screen is introduced as follows.
Nylon (nylon) screen: high strength, good elasticity, more flexible, so the printing effect on rough surface materials is better, usually used for products with low precision requirements, and because of its good alkali resistance, so in the use of alkaline ink or slurry printing more nylon (nylon) screen.
Polyester screen: because polyester monofilament has a good molecular structure, it has good positioning, so the size is stable, often selected in high-quality products and multi-color printing, because the monofilament elongation is small, in a variety of temperature and humidity conditions can maintain dimensional stability, and because of its good acid resistance, so in the use of acid sleeve ink or slurry printing more polyester screen.
